Thomas to Tucumcari

Day 2 of our trip. We drove from Thomas, OK to Tucumcari, NM.  Pulling campers and stopping for fuel 4.5 hours. Diesel mileage with this 40’ 5th wheeler
was between 8-10mpg.

There is a beautiful hill that I would love to explore, but we aren’t taking the camper off of the truck, so we will admire it from a distance.  You can see it behind our camper in the last picture. Well, I added a picture of it after that now.

Found the sunflowers near mother’s - this time of year I always search them out…

Mother and Rod cooked for us,
Red grilled those yummy steaks.

Made it to Texas:

Ummmm…
Made it through Groom, Texas

Saw WAY more windmills and trucks
than I ever wanted to!

Made it to New Mexico - notice the scenery:

Ate at a wonderful BBQ place. 5 stars!  😋

Jim found a guitar and serenaded us:

Found our campsite. 😳  🥵
Campground? ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️
With this desolate land, you can’t ask for much. It is a decent place to stay for the night. No trash.
Lady in office? ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We lost our camping buddies tonight. The A/C in their camper is broke, so the went to the same hotel that our other riding buddies are staying in. It’s ok, it is very hot here!  97° here - and you see the shade, right?  🤣

Oh, here is the hill:

Got to rest now, sun, heat, more sun… I am done.
Wish this sinus infection was better.
It is flared pretty bad. Colorado will help right? 🤣
