3 Blessed and Sad Weeks.

It has been a long and rough 3 weeks.  2 trips to Mobile, one to hug, see and visit with my uncle and the next to say our final goodbyes.  It was rough emotionally and it was rough physically, but both trips were very necessary.

I lost a very important man in my life; he was my Uncle Danny, my dad’s brother.  He paused in my life to let me know I had meaning - that I was worth teaching.  He patiently answered and explained every question I ever asked.  I sat by his side for hours watching the New Mexico skies light up with lightening storms while he photographed them.  I saw the gentleness he treated his own children with. I always wished that *I* was his child, but I was a niece that clung to his every word; embracing the history he shared, listening with fascination to his explanations as to why things did what they did, looking at the white sands as we picnicked, imagining his travels and admiring that my uncle WAS actually a rocket scientist.  Everything about him was special.

Please pray for his wife and best friend, Carol, his children Pamela and David - and his grandchildren and great granddaughter.

We all lost an amazing man.

He was not my father, but he was all my father never was - and more.

                         I will always miss him.
