Second Choice

Well, we have played offer/counter offer/offer/counter offer for several days on this house.  We made a 'Final Offer' on this house and have not heard a word.  So, we started talking about what we would do if this falls through - and it might.  We are ok with that - God will plop us in the house He wants us to be in, right?

While we are waiting on the final acceptance or refusal, I thought I would share the second choice house:

This is the front of the house:

Kitchen:

Awesome pantry:

Living room:

Kick last master bath:

Most of the bedrooms and the office look similar with these windows:

The master bedroom and bath are downstairs. Upstairs are three bedrooms:

And a 'bonus' room... ?

So, 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, an office downstairs, an office upstairs, a formal dining room and... hmmm.. yeah, a nice house.

Only has 5 acres though - and we can see our neighbors every which way we look - and we all know how much I think of neighbors, right?  That is why we bid on house number 1 first.

We shall see.

And we shall wait some more for the cat to accept or decline.

Waiting is the hardest.

They Counter Offered...

And we are thinking... how bad do we really want this place?

Or do we go back to looking at what is out there again?

Decisions, decisions...

Remember These Wise Ol' Owls?

I finally finished them!

Raelee is having an owl birthday party!  Here are what the owls that I made for Raelee and all her friends look like:

They were so much fun to make!  I got the ideas and patterns from This Linky

Raelee's birthday was on the 31st of May, but due to the great Louisiana floods, it was canceled until next week.  Steph is going to finish them by sewing them together and stuffing them.  Thanks Steph!
It has been a great way to pass the time - and now I must find some other way to pass the time - because these are finished!

And we continue to wait on word of our cat... or house.  We still have not heard a peep.

Not Yet :-(

The kitty's daddy is out of town fishing, so we haven't heard anything yet.  However, our real estate agent said their real estate agent was positive.  If you are lost, just hang around and keep on checking... I am too.  Lol...

So, no Raelee, we "haven't bought a kitty yet".  But we are trying.

And waiting.

Still Waiting...

We haven't heard anything from the real estate agent yet for news of the acceptance, rejection or counter-offer on the house, so we will patiently wait.  We were not surprised, we would have slept on the offer too before we made our decision.  After all, we didn't make the decision to make an offer on the house without a lot of thought either... so, we will wait. And hope.

Memorial Day weekend was this past weekend and we went to Steve's moms to help her lay the wreaths on all the graves of our loved ones.  She goes to every headstone and lays a wreath on it every year - so we decided we wanted to do it with her.  It is a custom a lot of Okies (people?) do, one that I 'enjoy' for lack of a better word.  As we traipsed all over Oklahoma and stopped at numerous headstones, I was able to listen to the family reminisce about their dads, moms, hubbys, aunts and uncles.  It was great listening to the stories they shared; some with laughter, some with tears in their eyes...  Such a nice way to remember those you love.

Mother lives in the south forty - which means WAY out in the country.  It is harvest time - a time when all the wheat has dried out and the combines start humming in the fields getting the harvest in.  This year there has been little rain so the wheat is not tall like it normally is, but it is still beautiful to look at and listen to.  When wheat blows in the wind, it has a crisp swaying rattle - it is nice to sit on the porch and listen and watch as it sways and gently clatters.

The deep colors of the soil and grass make a nice contrast to the golden wheat colors:

Random trees in the fields make a pretty picture; mother said she always loved this tree so one day Rod bought it for her - I am sure he bought the property it came on, but I will just let her think he bought the tree  ;-)

While we were outside planting new flowers around mother's new house, the neighbor's combines came out and took a cutting of wheat to see if it was dry enough:

I guess it was, because soon there were two combines:

And soon came a grain cart to offload the grain:

Rod (Steve's step-dad) and Steve stood and discussed how things were progressing - they do this so well:

And while I stood watching the combines, I contemplated the end of the Trail of Tears... reading about it in school so many years ago and still this moment caught in time takes my breath away:

While driving around looking for head stones, we passed this sign on the side of a brick building:

Love those old time memories...

And one last memory; when I was young, I was raised with 4 boy cousins for a few years.  We would fight like cats and dogs and would grab anything in our path to sling at each other.  I remember taking these balls off of the evergreen trees and hurling them at the guys... while standing at the cemetery, I looked at the tree and thought about my long lost cousins - if they had been there, I would have hurled a couple at them... but two have passed away one two are too far away:

Anyway, those are my thoughts today.  I am going to finished owls today and ship them off.  They are all adorable - I will take pictures tomorrow.  Until then...

We wait...

K, Now the Waiting Begins!

We made the offer on our house this morning... now we wait and see!  Hopefully we will hear something really soon.

Here's hoping!  I will be back the minute we hear whether they accepted, counter offered or rejected.

Waiting...

Waiting...

Waiting...

Nope!  Not yet!  Lol...

Dang I miss blogging...

Off to look at lawnmowers, trailers and tractors now.

And wait.  Someone send help if I turn blue!

SOooo... We Made Our Decision! :-)

We are going to bid on house number 1!!  Hold your breath - or better yet, say a few prayers!

Why we like it so much:

It has nearly 20 acres, complete with a pond, a creek, lots of pipe fencing, nice big trees including native pecan trees, a place for farm critters already fenced, a loafing shed for horses, a barn, a storm shelter (pretty important this time of year), tree swings, acres and acres of rolling prairie land with wild flowers sprinkled with wheat, and... oh, did I mention a beautiful house?  Hmmm??

Oh, and a itty at!  (kitty cat for those of you that didn't know my cousin Roger!)

And with those thoughts in mind, we are going to sleep on it.  Tomorrow, we call the real estate agent and start the task of trying to buy the place.  Steve is looking in the paper for tractors as I write this... can't wait to get this party started!

I am excited!

Here are a few more pictures of property #1:

Keep us in your thoughts and prayers as we go through this process.  If God wants us to be here, we won't have a problem in the world, right?

I might even post more pictures tomorrow, but for now, I am going to dream about it.  Night all!
