Steve's brother, step-dad and mother came down to Louisiana to visit us while we are in:

We took them to see Vermilionville in Lafayette. It is a replica of a Acadian Village with live working crafters and musicians.
They got to see the beautiful bayous:
(That were covered in hyacinths)
We saw swamp (Spanish) moss growing in the trees:

And old Acadian cabins, pirogues (PEE-rows) and bateaus (boats):

Mr Fontenot (FONT-ee-NO) and his assistant showed them how to play the fiddle:

and he actually let them help him play the fiddle:

M thought it was very cool:
And played very close attention to his instructions:
We checked out the bayous:

Browsed around the grounds:

pR didn't want to let papa go!

We sat in the shade in front of the bayou (covered in hyacinths) and played sisterly games:

And visited with mommy:

All of the family had a great time sitting in the shade:

M read to granny Bon and papa Rod:

pR still wouldn't let papa go!

We finally found Gene, our veterinarian, who had retired and was playing the fiddle:

We went dancing at Mulatte's:
And pR even did some pole dancing!

Uncle Jeff danced:

And papa danced:

And we contemplated our tomorrow's...

...as we are counting down to another stepping stone in our journey...
