Singapore National Day Practice

Every Saturday for a month before National Day, Singapore practices for perfection for the National Day Festivities.  Instead of writing about what it is, I will just let you read about it HERE

From our window, we have the most incredible view of what is going on in the air - of course we don't see what is going on in the city, but our aerial view is breathtaking.  We have yet to brave it up enough to go to the city to find out - you know how much we like crowds - but from our balcony we can see some of the fun going on above.

Early in the evening, we see movement from the helicopters carrying the flags.  They drag the flags over the city:

And circle around to us:

Right past our balcony:

Literally:

Sometimes we get several fly-bys:

They parachutist drop from the sky:

The top one has a flag flying from his foot:

Then the fighter jets arrive.  Slowing, letting us know they are here:

Then they circle and show us what they are really about:

We are lucky enough to get several fly-bys of those as well.

Then they fly off into the wild blue... err... bright yonder:

And finally, we get to top the day off with fireworks - but you get to see those tomorrow  ;-)

I simply take too many pictures... lol...

Great shots Euvah ....

I didn't think last night's 'show' was as good as July 10. But then I have to keep remembering it is "just the rehearsal".

Wait till the BIG one on August 9!!

When I was at the opening of the MBS on June 23, only one other person was there on the promenade ..... for the first rehearsal on July 10 ... maybe about 20 people.

But last night .... wow, they came out of the woodwork, hundreds of people! Probably also because the Marina Bay Festival was on as well. So much happening here all the time. :-)
