Good Morning Singapore :-)

Today is our third day back - and boy do we feel it. I am not one of those people that do not have jet lag - oh to be so lucky! Today is usually our worst day and then things start turning around on our side of the world. This morning I went outside to a beautiful sunrise - it was well into it before I actually *thought* to take a picture.

Our casino is climbing right one up - we look at it and wonder now if it will ever end - it is on the far left going sky high.

Compare it to this picture taken from the same spot one short year ago on September 7th, 2008!! Now this shows progress :-)

Man, it sucks to have this view...

My neighbor invited me to Bible Study at a Baptist Church here in Singapore. Oh, how fun it was to get back into church! I had a wonderful time and look forward to Thursday Bible Studies now. We are studying "Believing God" - a Beth Moore Study. How exciting and rejuvenating :-) The most amazing part for me was sitting in a room of 75 or so women (I sooo wanted to take a picture - but I was good) I glanced around me and saw women from every part of the world - all in one room and all there for one reason - God. What an amazing feeling. Christianity in Singapore. God is good.

After Bible Study we went to Chili's in Singapore. Yep, the burgers were USDA! Yippee! I know where to go for a good quiet burger now. Hard Rock Café has them, but not so quiet ;-) I was blessed to see Pam there too! She is my hero - without her, I don't think I could have done Singapore. She was a lifesaver. I could never thank her enough.

Finally, we left Chili's and went to a craft show - they are always so unique here. Most of the crafts are from Cambodia, Bali, Thailand, and Indonesia. I love embracing the local flair or crafts. They are so very unique. I often wonder if my friends from home could enjoy them quite as much as I do - experiencing them first hand is so amazing!

When I came home, I was walking past our pool and saw this sight - how simple and how pretty. I just had to take a picture of it. I know, odd you say... lol...

Lastly, I spent the rest of the day trying to get everything ordered from the US for TV here - the famous Sling Box. I was finally able to read through what Larry sent (thanks Larry) and get everything ordered to make it happen. Expensive? Yes. Do I care? Of course... well, not so much - I want something good from home. We have left it all behind. We need something from home. It will be tough, but I need a care package and this will have to fit the bill. Now if we can get it all working from California to us... just give us a few days and wish us luck!

And finally, I am doing some baking - but I didn't have enough eggs :-( How wonderful to have a neighbor to borrow from! No walking a mile to the store or brazing the market next door to get a few eggs. I can always repay her and it is so nice to see a friendly face in a crisis ;-) Thanks Debbi!

Now to fire up the oven and bake... nope, even that is not the same in Singapore. We had to buy the stand alone oven...
