Does The Packing Ever End?

We have been steadily packing for 2 days now - I am so sick of it all I could just toss it in the trash, but then as I sift through the memories of our life, I know that I simply cannot do that. So, with much care, we go through all the boxes that were packed in haste during the flood, unpack it, sort it, then repack it with tender loving care. It is, after all, what makes us whole - each piece a part of our lives at one point or another and the memories just keep flooding us. Stuff, stuff and more stuff!

We still have a lot of packing to do in the house before we start the shop. Oh, Lord, the shop! What a mess that will be. I am not looking forward to it, but I am sure we will get through it just as we have this entire ordeal.

We have extended our stay here - we will be coming back to Singapore a week later than we hoped :-( We just cannot get all the packing done and 'stuff' put into storage by twinkling our nose - and we definitely have too much 'stuff'. It is just Steve and I working on it, so it is slow going. We will get it, but it taking time even working fast. So, it is with much regret that I say we will be one week longer getting back into a routine. I will miss my girls here, but not the insanity of what I have been living.

Today was the first showing of our house! A mother and father are buying a house for the kids as a wedding gift. The mom loved the house, the kids - maybe not so much. She told the realtor to put it on the 'short list' as she liked it and she and hubby would be the ones buying it - so we will see. The father is coming into town next week and they will come see it again. We need to get it all packed and out of here - here's hoping :-)

Off to bed - we hit the boxes early and slam dunk until we fall into bed. I just needed to catch you up on our life. Stop the world and let me catch up! :-)

This Says It All

I don't even feel like talking about it right now. You don't live somewhere for 16 years and not care about it. The house is listed and I am worn out from getting it ready. I will talk more when I can think rationally - tonight is not the night.

Thank you Peggy and Stephenie for helping out today. I could have never done it without you. I know, you will be washing windows and ironing curtains in your sleep. I owe you. Thank you, thank you!

It should be showing on the website within a few days.

Good night all...

During the packing/unpacking/cleaning process, I also came across a few memories. See if you recognize anything - if not, keep on watching as I am sure during this packing process, we will come across something with you in mind :-)

If you are in any of these memories, please share them with us!

Tomorrow, I could sure use help trying to finish getting the house ready for listing. If you have a few extra minutes and wanted to help out - give me a call, I am sure I could use you :-) Did you hear that? I am asking for help! Now if you can just pick your jaw up and regain some composure, I would really love it. I know, you are surprised... me of all people asking for help. Yes, I am beyond helping - my hubby tells me that every day, and I am also desperate. But maybe, just maybe, you could try... lol...

I need to:

Iron the curtains
Get the construction stuff picked up beside the house
Finish tidying up the patio
Move things in the shop over for a good photo
Change the bedding in Jeremy's bedroom - it is not working for me.
Find stuff to fill the EMPTY places in the bookcase, curio cabinet and kitchen shelves
(I know, not much but a little will help)
Move the microwave tables out of the kitchen
Make the house purty

Off to finish what I can tonight. Wish me luck :-)

I Am Back :-)

We have been running around like crazy - all of it trying to get things moved from one place to another - and some things moved into the house:

This bedroom is not working for me - can't figure it out. Of course, I am a quilt and country type of person:

Like this:

And this is what I came up with in the scrap room - Carey forbid me to repaint it :-)

Good thing no one can see this:

I know, I need to iron all the curtains...

And remember, half of all our furniture was destroyed in the 'great flood' - we are not buying more to move to storage.

And finally, we just put a For Sale sign up for giggles. We will list with an agent Tuesday after Steve gets back from Brownsville:

However, we still have to deal with this:

Stuff we brought over from one storage...

And this:

It used to be our screened in patio but turned in to a tool/storage and catch all room during renovations.

And last, but certainly not least, this:

Counting down now - will we make it? Yes, we will!

Ugh.

Our 'New' Home is For Sale :-(

The link to the house is not working. As soon as I figure out how to do it, I will post again. So sorry.

As much as I was worried about the colors, I think I did fine picking them out. The yellow room, of course, was supposed to be my scrap room. I would have picked another color had I only known...

It is sad to say, but it will be on the market in 24 hours.

*sigh*

The Kitchen...

Is so close to done I can taste it!

What do you think?

I LOVE it! Now tell me folks, how can I leave this? Can you convince me?

I am so torn. I know what we have to do. Honestly, I do know. But could you leave this?

Keep us in your thoughts and prayers - this is a tough decision.
