Steve and I went out to Sentosa Island Saturday and strolled around the new casino area. We forgot our passports, but we had a great time browsing anyway. In order to get into the casinos free here, you must have a passport, and not be Singaporean. The Singaporeans must pay a hefty entry fee of S$100 (US$71.28) per day or S$2,000 per annum to "make them think twice before heading to the baccarat tables or slot machines". The restraints seem not to effect the amount of people going to the casino though as we saw a huge amount of them heading in:
And these sitting in the levy office didn't seem to mind they wait:
What we loved about the area (this area is above the casino and outside of Universal Studios) was the beauty of it all. Singapore takes pride in modern designs and this was no exception. Just look at the angles of the area:
There is lots of filtered shade to protect from the constant sun.
Outside of Universal Studios, Steve noticed something odd - take a look at this globe. Do you see something the contractors seem not to have thought about?
Look at Singapore! Don't you think they could have rearranged the words to show Singapore since this Universal Studios is IN Singapore? Like they could have placed our little red dot (or the Malaysian peninsula) between the "al" and the "Uni" (right where that silly tree is) as shown below, right?
That would have taken very little planning...
And I finally got a good picture of Steve. Check it out... he is SMILING!
We had a great day out and about browsing. We took the MRT to and from Sentosa, relaxed and enjoyed ourselves. I am glad to be back to exploring... Oh! They have a New Orleans restaurant out there - who woulda thunk it? We saw that only after we had stopped to eat at another place. Oh, well, there is always next time...
If I could only look into my crystal ball... I wonder just what I would see?
Or maybe I should just let it be and not see what life has in store for me...
