No cooking today. No stove. No water. No... hmmm.... seems to be no anything :-(
Without a kitchen working we tried to go out to eat. It was actually rather amusing. We went to Popeye's and a sign stating they were hiring managers and crew workers. The place was seriously backed up - probably 10 people in line. We left and went to Pizza Hut to find a sign on the door stating that they crew had not shown up, therefore they could not open the dining room - carry out only. That would all be fine and dandy, except for the small problem of not having a dining room. Ok, that is not entirely true, we had the option of eating outside and being the mosquitoes supper while we were eating.
SOooooo, we left and went to Popeye's in MC and again found signs indicating they needed help. We went in, the entire kitchen was empty and the chicken was in boxes on the counter. The workers were cleaning and not interested in helping us. They nearly walked us to the door to leave. Sooooo, we went to Shoney's and finally got a really yummy meal. I am glad their workers showed up :-) otherwise, we would certainly be hungry.
How can you have high unemployment rates and every fast food joint begging for workers?? Where are all those summertime teens needing work? What the heck is going on? lol...
Man this is getting old and we are one week into it.

lol... i also wonder about the high unemployment and still fast food places are looking to hire!
glad i'm not the only person who thinks that's ironic.
(of course most homeless i see - or rather benevolence requests we get at the church - fast food work must be beneath their dignity, they prefer handouts)
