Mid- Autumn Festival - Clarke Quay

Last night we meandered over to Clarke Quay to enjoy the Mid-Autumn (?) Festival.  I was looking for a sign of cool weather, but it didn't happen.  However, the festival was going full swing; lots of people there, activities going on, singing, playing of instruments with lots and lots of food.  Singapore would not be Singapore without oodles of delicious food!

Even though there were thousands of people, I was able to be sneaky and take lots of great pictures.  The 'lanterns' next to the water were beautiful; it is like seeing double the lights  :-)

In all the nooks and crannies around Clark Quay there were big colorful lanterns all lit up for our pleasure:

The entire area is breathtaking.  If you haven't been to Clarke Quay, grab your camera and umbrellas and head on out there now.  What a fun evening with friends and family.

Great food, great times, and great photo ops.  Your gonna love it.  The displays will be up until Sept 21st, but if you wait, something may come up or you will forget.  You surely don't want to do that, now do you?

I will share more pictures tomorrow, but here are the details:

Clarke Quay (pronounced key)
Huge lanterns on the river
Cultural performances near The Central (mall) on the stage
Nightly September 8-22
Eat, meet, drink and be merry.
Take your camera and tripod

Oh and here is a huge hint; you might want to steer far away from this sign:

They are not lying - stinky does not even begin to cover it.  If it had not been so crowded, I could have taken a picture of the dozens (hundreds?) of people holding their noses as they passed the place up... lol... It is near the bridge with all the lanterns - don't worry, you will smell it when you get a few hundred feet away.

How do they eat that?!

Still roasting at 90 degrees - but not by that booth.  Send Autumn please?
