Bit and Pieces, Please?

On the trip up Hwy 1, we found a place that seemed like the perfect place to stop in, but Steve passed it right by, racing on to the north:

Instead he went on up the road and we finally pulled out where we saw the elephant seals - quite possibly a better decision, but we will never know, will we?

When we pulled up, we had some beggers viciously attack us!

The stinkers were apparently used to being charmed by their people:

And they were quite good at saying "Please?  Pretty please??"  "Just any tiny bits and pieces you might have will do for now."

They seemed to have discussions on who had the best treats!   ;-)

And they certainly weren't into sharing them either!

They even begged the ones who ignored them, standing behind them and loudly chattering... if only I could speak ground squirrel talk, I am sure I would be laughing over this one's rants:

There were plenty of critters waiting around for the left-overs:

Some even looking like they were contemplating the big attack:

And we certainly didn't see this sign until too late   :-(

In fact, it was far away from where we parked and not at all obvious:

This stop was indeed one of the high points of our trip.  We loved seeing and visiting with nature.  It is so fun to see God's critters hanging around with humans, especially since everyone knows how much we like critters  :-)

It was a super great day for all of us.  We left feeling excited and happy.  That that little stop put a bounce in our step and chattering about the antics of the begging critters.

We only feeling a bit guilty for not following the rules - we didn't see them until too late, right?

Too cute! We found some fun critters like that on our travels as well...it's fun to see them interact with each other!

I was afraid that if we turned down the road to Nitt Witt Ridge, the nitt witts there might have kept some of us! And I sure would have hated leaving there without you.
