Catching Up and Thanksgiving :-)

Ok, I admit it, I am behind and I lost my zoo pictures - but I am determined to find them.  When I do, I will share.  Until then, I will just catch you up on our lives.

Of course, we have been super busy with the girls here, trying to cram as much in as we can.  We have actually done about half of our list and are still diligently working on it.

Raelee last night got just a tad homesick, but she was soon ok and moving on.  I expected that long before now, but she has done so well.

What have we done?

We went and picked up my nativity scene - more on that later, but I just want to give you a hint:

We have been swimming in our pool:

Raelee has figured out how to work the elevator:

We celebrated my birthday:

Which is where I got my macro lens (thank you Steve!) and I played just a bit too much:

My first picture with it:

And the best part of the trip for me has been that I have my little helper with me:

She helped me make pumpkin and apple pies which she has tried hard to eat all of both!

(Taken with that nifty macro lens)

And of course, we had our Thanksgiving dinner - complete with Steve's famous smoked turkey:

And it was darned near perfect!  That is exceptional considering he had to do it on a bbq pit  :-)  Yum, Steve!

We had lots of company in our itsy, bitsy, teeny, weenie condo:

Kimberly from Singapore:

Soup from Africa:

Joel from France:

Benard from Belgium:

Steph from the states:

And Raelee, Steve, Dallas and I - who I failed to get pictures of  :-(

We had wine:

And I took a few too many pictures with my macro:

And we relaxed on our balcony (and I took a picture taken with my new macro lens - not a close up)

I promise to be more timely with my posts.  For some reason I have made myself sick searching for my zoo pics, and in my mind, I needed to blog them.  I am moving on... lol...

Today, I go to a Dr and then on to Orchard Road.  Maybe a fishie pedicure is in store for us?

See you tomorrow!

Jurong Bird Park

I am going to try today to catch up - I have been a slacker...  My apologies - I am enjoying our girls  :-)

We went to Jurong Bird Park and saw some wonderful birds.  I am a bird watcher anyway, so this was right up my ally.  I had a great time taking pictures of all the beautiful birds in the park.

I got this picture of the penguins and even though it was through the glass it come out pretty darned good.

Here is another odd looking penguin carrying a purse  ;-)

This are just a few of the many pelicans they have there.  I think they have one pelican of every kind.

We all thought this guy needed a hair cut  ;-)

Just another of the pelicans

This is Jeremy's favorite bird when he was young  ;-)

Raelee didn't care so much for the birds after a bit - she said that she didn't like getting 'squeaked'.
This was when she still liked them.

She did love the bridge however

The birds were everywhere - we could walk right up to them

This little guy wanted to TAKE a picture, not have his taken!

This one just kept looking at me... or was it  my camera?  lol...

This was a wild bird in the park - I will have to look it up and see what kind it is.  Isn't it beautiful?

We had a great time at the park, walking around, visiting and enjoying the day.  Though Raelee had a good time, I think the birds squawking annoyed her a bit.

That is ok, she still had fun and so did we...

Bukit Timah Nature Reserve and the Monkeys

Monkey, monkey, where are the monkeys?
They are at Bukit Timah!   :-)

How many monkeys do you see in this picture?

I bet you missed the one on the chain between the two gates, didn't you?  Did you catch the one on top of the sign under the light?  Sneaky little guys aren't they?

Today we went to Bukit Timah Nature Reserves.  We were not let down - the girls saw their monkeys.  Lots of monkeys.  They were everywhere!  Take a look at just a few of the shots I got:

We did other things today and I will try to catch up this weekend, but for now, I just wanted to share the monkeys.  I loved seeing them and I know you will too.  We had so much fun today  :-)

Isn't it cool that the monkeys are wild here?  My friend has pineapples growing outside her home in Indonesia, about 15 miles away.  She has a great story of trying to shoo the monkeys away from her pineapple plants.  It seems they love pineapples, too  :-)

Awww, the memories we are making just monkeying around.  What fun it is to see the critters here.  Now for some shut eye... night folks...
