Happy Birthday Carey :-(

As I write this Carey and Mike...our niece and her hubby are weathering out Hurricane Ike'e eye south of Houston. This is Carey's birthday. I am saying lots of prayers for them - and the rest of the people in path of destruction. Carey said the officials asked them not to evacuate from her area as she was further inland and the coastal people needed to get out, so they did what they were advised to do.
Carey and Mike are very well prepared, but I doubt they can imagine the sounds the house will be making, the devastation the area will suffer, and the total change they will see of their neighborhood - their lives - when they step out of their house tomorrow in the daylight.
Carey's dad is keeping us updated as he hears from them. Electric is gone - soon the cell will be as well. I love ya, Carey! Mike - I kinda like you too! Hang in there - we are all praying for you :-)
Love ya Deborah, Jennifer and Jeff. We are praying for you as well. It is so tough to wait it out...
Carey is celebrating her birthday with the "big Ike slam" :-( This will be a birthday you will never forget. Celebrate another day - k?
